What is iLEADx all about?!
iLEADx is a new and innovative idea! It’s a conference for the youth by the youth, similar in style to TED, PLUS a talent show – all in one!
It’s in the form of a competition for the best speaker and best talent, with very valuable prizes.
What’s up with the acronym?
The ILEAD Conference was established in 2012 by the United Muslim Organizations of Ottawa – Gatineau (UMO-OG), an umbrella of all the Mosques and Islamic Organizations in the Ottawa – Gatineau region. ILEAD stands for Islam, Learn, Engage, Achieve, and Develop.
We added the “x” in the end to symbolize the locality of this project… no external speakers invited, pure local talent!
